The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the single greatest event of history. Jesus, the perfect Son of God, hung on Calvary’s cross to take the full payment for our sins. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 He died and was buried. Three days later, He triumphantly rose from the dead! Why is the resurrection so significant? Jesus’ resurrection is the triumphant and glorious victory for every believer. “For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 Because He lives, we can live eternally. One day, He will return. The dead in Christ will be raised up, and those who are alive at His coming will be changed to receive a new, glorified body. “For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him…. “Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” 1 Thessalonians 4:14, 17 “Because He lives, I can face tomorrow, Because He lives, all fear is gone; Because I know He holds the future, And life is worth the living, Just because He lives!” ~ Bill & Gloria Gaither

Meet Our Pastor
Pastor Clarence Saulog was born in California and attended Faith Baptist Schools from K5 through high school. Upon graduation, he attended Bible college for a year but continued to struggle with finding his purpose in life. Finally, at the age of 25 and tired of the sin that gripped his life, Pastor Saulog turned to God for salvation. He soon became active in serving at Faith Baptist as an usher, youth worker, and Sunday school teacher. Within a few years, Pastor Saulog married Susanna. Soon after marriage, Pastor Saulog felt God leading him to preach. In 2016, God opened the door for him to direct the Filipino ministry at Faith Baptist, where he was serving for two years, and in 2018 the Lord lead Pastor Saulog to Kansas to pastor a church. The Lord put a heavy burden on the heart of Pastor Saulog to move back to California and start a work in Oxnard, CA. It is there He met Pastor David Azzarello , church planter of Southport Baptist Church. It became clear that God was directing Pastor Saulog to pastor Southport Baptist Church in Port Hueneme. He was installed as Pastor on September 15, 2019
